Front facade of Linderhof Castle, the only castle completed by Ludwig II.
It resides in a magnificently landscaped estate in Bavaria.
Isolated low in the Graswang Valley, Linderhof was started from a hunting lodge already owned by Maximilian II. Dollman was employed for the architectural task of building the small castle and Karl von Effner created the dual-sloped park which is unequaled for beauty and innovation. All done in Roccoco, the effect is stunning.
