↑ 3. Chenonceau was built over the Cher River with a galleried bridge which was added by Diane de Poitiers.

← 1. Nicknamed "Chateau des Dames," the Chenonceau Marques Tower (Guy's Tower) was part of the original 16th century building. Thomas Bohier razed the castle keep and this donjon is the only remaining portion of the Marques family home.

A unique example of French Renaissance architecture, contained in a seventy-hectare park, with two famous gardens: Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici's. This photo shows the de Medici garden and the de Poitiers garden is on the other side. ↓
